Turning complex patient data into actionable insights
Project Summary
Contexte

Prologica's dev team built a working prototype for hospital patient data. It was a technical proof of concept, not a usable tool. They needed to transform this prototype into a production-ready application for daily hospital use.

CHALLENGE
  • Rethinking the entire user experience while keeping technical functionality intact
  • Optimizing charts and data visualizations for quick reading and instant comprehension
  • Creating visual hierarchy for quick identification of critical patient information
APPROACH

Run product workshops with the team to deeply understand the needs and priorities of each screen. From there, define a clear page structure, design scannable interfaces tailored to dense medical data, and build a documented component system enabling the dev team to continue development autonomously.

DELIVERABLES
  • Application UX/UI redesign
  • Patient dashboard
  • Care pathway visualization
  • Component library
  • Multi-device adaptation

USER EXPERIENCE

Rethinking the entire user experience

The main challenge was rethinking the entire user experience while keeping all technical functionality intact. This meant fixing wrong chart choices, removing redundant data, reducing information overload, breaking the rigid linear layout, and creating visual hierarchy so medical staff could quickly spot critical patient information.

The solution focused on creating clear page structure, designing scannable interfaces for dense medical data, and building a documented component system for autonomous development. This approach transformed the technical proof of concept into a daily-use hospital tool where medical staff can quickly find critical patient info and spot changes.

PRODUCT DESIGN

Making complex patient data accessible and actionable

The goal was to make complex patient data accessible and actionable for medical staff while creating a design system enabling the dev team to build new features independently. I focused on restructuring the main dashboard with complete patient data and the pathway screen to enable easy comparison between patient journeys and medical protocols.

By implementing clear visual hierarchies and optimizing layouts, I created an interface that prioritizes the most relevant clinical data while maintaining comprehensive access to patient history. The dense medical information is now scannable and actionable, enhancing practitioners' ability to make informed decisions efficiently.

STYLE GUIDE

Building a scalable component system

To enable the dev team to work independently and ensure interface consistency, I built a comprehensive component library with detailed documentation. Each component was designed with variations to accommodate different data contexts while preserving the overall visual language, eliminating guesswork during implementation and ensuring a cohesive user experience throughout the application.
